About the film
Alexei Varakin plays in a Moscow restaurant band. His ex-wife has married a rich American and taken their daughter Anya to California without telling him.
He arrives in San Francisco with almost no English and a simple plan: take Anya home. She recognises him at once and is happy to run away with him, but the escape across America does not go to plan.
A warm road movie about a Russian in 1990s America, with a young Vladimir Mashkov.
