About the film
Mr. Johnny First arrives in the frontier town of Santa Carolina with a strange little box. It is a film projector, and he believes that the movies can make people better.
At first the cowboys laugh. Then they start watching, and the saloon fills with men who no longer want to drink and fight. Not everyone is happy about that, especially the saloon owner and a mysterious gunman in black.
A musical parody of the Hollywood Western, the film is full of songs, chases and in-jokes about early cinema. It was a huge hit in 1987.
