About the film

The biggest diamond in the world goes missing from a Yakutian mine, and everyone, from gangsters to the state, is chasing it. It ends up with Vasily Krolikov, a small-time crook who happens to have two identical brothers he has never met.

Valery Garkalin plays all three brothers, and the chaos reaches Moscow, a Roma camp, a concert hall and the US Embassy. Menshov packs the film with satire of the wild post-Soviet years.

It is a big, loud farce and one of the most quoted Russian comedies of the 1990s.
